I'm looking to get an opinion on Premium Content and how well it works on this site. If it's worthwhile and how limiting it is for manipulators and creators.

I have always really enjoyed offering my photos for free. For me it's a great way to provide a resource to everyone and I love seeing the creations people come back with. Honestly, I love and appreciate every bit of art created using any of the stock I provide. It's amazing the work people make, and fun to see how they use the stock in their own way.

However... now that I've had time to sit down and take a look around the internet, I am noticing some of my stocks scattered around. Offered on other sites to download, used as clipart on websites, album art, sold on Cafe Press, even used as a logo for a doctor... Just various things such as that. It's not that bad, because I don't currently have the widest array of stock to provide, most of the 'stolen' stock are my easier to use PNG cut-outs. Though it is a still a little bit annoying. Who likes to see something they worked on offered for sale on some website, not even changed a bit? I have seen other stockers frustrated by this, eventually pulling all of their images off DA completely.

I feel one way around this is to limit the download of images. I'm not active enough on here by far to ask people to note me for a download link, so that would never work. The other is to make stock available for points. But is that really worth it? Won't people see a charge and move on? What if it's offered for something as low as 1 point? Most active DA users will eventually get a couple points here or there. 1 point would limit downloads to active users but not 'break the bank', so to speak. If that's still too much, users could always send a note for a download request if they don't mind waiting for a reply. It's a thought anyway.

Still, I'm not sure I'm happy with that as a work around. Part of me thinks I should just ignore it and move on. What are your thoughts? I would love to hear from both stock artists and non stock artists on this subject. :)

Thanks <3

If you put anything - with any merit on the internet - it will get stolen ( with or without a credit to you ) . The only sure way not to have it stolen - is to not put it on the internet .
